Miami Whitewater Statement of Faith…

There is but one living and true God who exists in three persons, but is of one substance, power, and eternity—God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus to be the One true Son of God—of one substance with God, born of a virgin, having the form of both God and human, and suffering the pain of death for the sins of the world.

Christ did truly rise from the dead to overcome sin and death, ascended to be with God, and waits for the last day to judge all people.

The Holy Spirit proceeds both from God and Christ and is present now for counseling, convicting of sin and guidance in following God's will.

God’s Word, both the Hebrew and Christian scriptures, is the inerrant Word of God, inspired by God, written by humans, transmitted through the Holy Spirit, authoritative for faith, and contains all things necessary for salvation and Godly living.

Each of us is distanced from God because of our natural inclination to sin.

In that sin, through the grace of God, we have been given the freedom to choose good or evil, right or wrong, life or death.

We are saved from this sin and free will only by faith through the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ

This saving grace was made possible only through the ultimate and final sacrifice of the suffering, death, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Good works are the necessary fruits of faith and follow after salvation by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

We are continually being regenerated in faith through the power of the Holy Spirit to become more perfected in love in our relationship with God and neighbor.

The Christian Church is the one, holy, apostolic and universal representative body of Christ in the world, existing to celebrate God, edify and strengthen believers, create disciples for Jesus Christ, and make Christ’s redemptive love and grace known to all people throughout the world.

Sacraments are ordained of Christ to be an outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace offered solely through the love of Jesus Christ.

The sacrament of baptism is an entry rite into the Christian faith, symbolizing our life cleansing new birth in Christ, and offered once to any that do claim or can have claimed on their behalf, faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

The sacrament of Holy Communion, through the elements of bread and wine, is a continual symbolic celebration of both our oneness with Christ and a perpetual remembrance of his sacrificial giving of life for life, offered to any that do claim or can have claimed on their behalf, faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

God is the owner of all things, and that as such; we are merely stewards of our personal and private property, holding them in trust for God’s greater purposes for love, service to the poor, and ministry in and for the world.

Worship is essential to the spiritual growth and development of all believers and should be done regularly so as to glorify God in every way.

All people fall under the righteous judgment of Christ, both now and in the last day.
